Doyle New York has a Belle Epoque auction twice a year. It is a separate sale of objects from the 19th-century Victorian to Art Nouveau, some Art Deco and today. Winter sella thon was held on February 24, 2010 with an average ripping results. I asked the wizard to hunt, Malcolm MacNeil for his impressions of the sale of the event. Here is his answer.
"I was extremely pleased with the results of the Belle Époque auction yesterday. It is a public sale by many and always expects much of the city, popular and global importance.Thanks to art barometer, there were approximately 59 parcels. If you would require, all with the biggest dealer and art lover importance because of scarcity, importance, important and desirable condition had the greatest interest and command competitive and justice generated results. Of the 20 parties that art sunglasses a pre-auction trading view of $ 2,000 or more only one party had failed to provide. It was a country-like geometric leaded field-glasses tint attributed to Tiffany Studios and estimated at $ 3,000-5000.It had an extensive stock and although it was considered that the glasses were indeed by Kokomo (one of the suppliers Tiffany's), unfortunately it was not by the partnership of Tiffany Studios. Coming back to the 20 plots with a pre-auction low flea guesstimate of $ 2000 or higher, 9 lots sold below the low thought and 9 lots sold above the low guestimate.Two of the highlights were a Tiffany Studios bronze and leaded Favril bell desk in the Venetian design, estimated at $ 40,000-50,000, sold for $ 65,000, added copper thin on the ground b costly, and a Tiffany Studios leaded glass and bronze hanging irrigation is estimated at $ 70,000-90,000, sold for $ 110,000, customer asset scarce as hen's teeth. Other items in the stock had spectacular results, including furniture, porcelain and white. Standing excellence sells well and grandeur best selling very well."
Other items that performed well was a trade-up and front-end food breathtaking painted lamp, estimated at $ 3-5,000 that sold for $ 10,625, including the customer's high priced, a fair number of possessions Quezal shades descended from the relatives of Edward Conlan, the secretary of the Art Quezal Lens and Decorating Co., Tiffany Studios and a fresh Millifiori decorated vase, estimated at $ 2,500-3,500, sold for $ 9375, including the customer's high priced.
