How do you remove plaster from inside an antique lamp base to rewire it?
Aug 17, 2008 by Sarah | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I have an antique glass lamp base that needs to be rewired. The metal top that holds the bulb is attached to the glass with plaster of paris, which prevents us from taking it apart. Is soaking it in water for a long time the only way to remove the plaster?

Antique auction include Tiffany lamp

There's only one progressive in the world for sale - the other seven variations are in museums or secluded collections - and it can be yours from the Macklowe Gallery in New York for a scant $3.5 million.
The lamp was among the most opulent of antiques and antiquities on publicize at this year's Winter Antiques show. Regarded as the first night antiques event in America, 75 dealers were at the annual bazaar, where New York socialites were the outstanding clientele and museum curators perused works as as a whole as 7 tons and as teeny as a dime.
And priced give. Of course, most of these items will be bought by museums or other notable institutions with galleries. But if you have the money, anything's possible.
Benjamin Macklowe, of the Macklowe Gallery, said they waited for the show to rave-up the lamp, which would've cost $400 in 1906.
And speaking of lilies, Adam Patrick of the New York gallery A La Vielle Russie Inc. showed off a diamond-encrusted lily pin so glowing it hurt to stare. It was the size of an actual flower you'd anchor to a groom's lapel, and was made from at least 500 tiny, adjoining-perfect gems. The cost? $110,000.

Up for bid a rare Looker antique lamp has a base made of iron mold with a ball inside a telescope mechanicism looks like a once upon a time capsule on cast-off antique clocks could be something else I cast it is a rhythm, capsule but I'm not a dab hand it is a profession of art the lamp has a thrash metal and comes with a semi-darkness, I see more pictures from the 31.5 and the measures from base to top was 30, lighbulb than 5 to the Appendix for the semi-darkness. The base is 8.5 x6.5 and it is 19in around the globe.
